The 38 awards, a new record for Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico, reflect the Archdiocese of Denver’s continued efforts to evangelize through media.

By Denver Catholic Staff
Day in and day out, your archdiocesan communications team works devotedly to share the best in Catholic news across Northern Colorado and the world. We’re excited to share that the Archdiocese of Denver, Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico were recently honored for that commitment with 38 awards from the Catholic Media Association, a professional international organization of Catholic communicators.
We’re honored to be recognized among such phenomenal diocesan and national Catholic media outlets, seeking to preach the Gospel and share the Good News! We’re especially humbled that our Managing Editor, André Escaleira, Jr., was recognized as Spanish Editor of the Year and honorable mention for English Editor of the Year; Rocio Madera was honored as Spanish Writer of the Year; Filippo Piccone was named first runner-up Graphic Designer of the Year; both Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico were named first runners-up Magazines of the Year in English and Spanish, respectively (the third year in a row for El Pueblo!); two of Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila’s pastoral letters were honored; the Annual Seminaries Appeal produced by our archdiocesan marketing team was named Best Diocesan Fundraising Appeal; and our exceptional design team was honored with multiple “sweeps” (or near-sweeps!) of layout and design categories.
"I could not be prouder of this team," said Kevin Greaney, Chief Communications Officer for the Archdiocese of Denver. "This recognition comes from our peers in Catholic media, and it honors the work behind both publications. I am especially grateful to Kelly Clark and her communications team - André and Rocio - whose work reaching our Spanish-speaking communities was especially honored this year. Many of them carried real fear this year, and our work was to stay close and remind them they are beloved by God. Matthew Elhardt's design team: Filippo, Simona, Lyn and Panoula, gave that work a beautiful home on the page. To our readers: thank you. Your support gives our work its purpose, and we look forward to continuing to share the stories of our community and our amazing faith this coming year."
We’re grateful for the recognition, but we’re even more thankful for the support of our dedicated readers. Without your support, encouragement and partnership in this mission, the Good News would not be preached as effectively. We’re inspired by the ways God is working in Northern Colorado, in each of your lives and throughout our parishes, schools and communities. There are so many beautiful stories to tell, and we’re honored to share them, all for the glory of the Father!
