YOU'RE INVITED: Join Archbishop Aquila for Eucharistic Procession at Planned Parenthood

On the morning of Saturday, October 25, Catholics from across Northern Colorado will gather at an unlikely place: outside the largest abortion provider in the state.

There, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila will lead the faithful in a Eucharistic procession around Planned Parenthood in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood, proclaiming the real presence of Christ and the sacredness of every human life.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at 7155 E. 38th Ave. and will conclude with Mass in the Marisol Health garden, alongside Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Lakewood.

A visible witness to life

Each year, the procession brings together hundreds of Catholics of all ages, united in the conviction that prayer is the most powerful response to the culture of death. With the Blessed Sacrament held high, participants walk in silence and song, entrusting mothers, fathers and unborn children to the mercy of Christ.

This public witness comes at a time when the challenges to life in Colorado remain sobering. Earlier this year, the Colorado legislature passed measures in a special session to allocate even more taxpayer dollars to expand abortion access. Against this backdrop, the Eucharistic procession is a countercultural act of faith, reminding the city and the state that every human life is sacred and that Christ’s love is greater than any darkness.

The Eucharist: the heart of the response

A Eucharistic procession is not a protest or a political rally. It is, at its heart, an act of worship. Catholics believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist — body, blood, soul and divinity — and when the Blessed Sacrament is carried into the streets, the Lord himself is brought to those places most in need of his light.

"The Respect Life Office is filled with joy and anticipation for the upcoming Eucharistic Procession with Archbishop Aquila. This sacred time offers our community a beautiful opportunity to come together in witness and worship, united in our shared mission to be light in a darkened world," said Jennifer Torres, community engagement coordinator for Respect Life Denver, a ministry of Catholic Charities. "As we walk with Christ truly present in the Eucharist, we are reminded that he calls us to be faithful, to carry hope and to boldly proclaim the dignity of every human life. We believe that a deepened devotion to the Eucharist has the power to transform hearts and ultimately renew a culture that too often chooses death over life. We invite all to come as they are, rest and pray with us."

By walking with Christ in the Eucharist, the faithful proclaim that every person, no matter how vulnerable or broken, is beloved by God. They also intercede for mothers in crisis pregnancies, for fathers under pressure and for children whose lives are at risk.

Standing together for life

For Archbishop Aquila, the annual procession is essential to building a culture of life in Colorado. It is a moment to witness publicly, pray fervently and stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable.

Respect Life Denver, a ministry of Catholic Charities, encourages the faithful to come as families, parish groups and communities. Whether in prayerful silence or in joyful hymn, the presence of ordinary Catholics gathered around the Eucharist becomes a powerful sign of hope.
