On any given Tuesday or Thursday, a quiet but powerful work of mercy unfolds inside Samaritan House in downtown Denver. In a space unlike most pediatric clinics, children who are experiencing housing insecurity receive medical and behavioral health care free of charge in an environment designed to honor their dignity and support their families.

Through a life-affirming partnership with Every Child Pediatrics, Samaritan House is home to one of the first pediatric clinics located inside a shelter in the country. The clinic serves children living at Samaritan House as well as families in the surrounding community, offering integrated primary and mental health care through thoughtful screening, communication and coordination.

This work reflects the heart of the Church’s mission to protect life and care for the most vulnerable. For children facing the instability of homelessness, access to consistent, compassionate health care can be transformative, not only treating illness, but restoring a sense of safety, trust and hope.

As the number of families experiencing housing insecurity in Denver continues to grow, so does the need for basic health supplies that many parents simply cannot afford. Items such as over-the-counter cold and flu medications, fever reducers and other essential care products make an immediate difference for children who might otherwise go without treatment for common illnesses.

These needs may seem small, but for families already stretched thin, they can become overwhelming barriers to a child’s well-being. By providing these supplies, the clinic helps parents care for their children with confidence and ensures that illness does not become another crisis layered onto an already difficult season.

Every contribution — whether through donated supplies or financial support — directly strengthens this ministry of healing. It helps ensure that children are cared for promptly and with compassion, and that families know they are not alone.

For Catholics committed to building a culture of life, this partnership offers a tangible way to live out the Gospel call to serve Christ in the poor, the sick and the vulnerable. Supporting Samaritan House’s children’s clinic is an act of mercy that reaches children where they are — offering care, dignity and hope at a time when it is needed most.

Those interested in supporting the clinic are encouraged to consider donating supplies or resources to help meet these urgent needs. In doing so, the faithful become partners in a ministry that protects life and nurtures healing, one child at a time.
