Catholic Charities of Denver and Save the Storks have officially launched the Marisol Health Mobile, a state-of-the-art clinic on wheels that will bring free, life-affirming healthcare directly to women and families across the Denver metro area.
The new mobile clinic — funded through a more than $700,000 grant from Save the Storks and additional contributions from Marisol Health donors — marks Save the Storks’ 106th mobile medical clinic nationwide and the first of its kind to serve Denver. Operated by Marisol Health, a ministry of Catholic Charities, Marisol Health Mobile is designed to meet women where they are, providing compassionate care and support during some of the most critical moments of their lives.
Equipped with advanced ultrasound technology, pregnancy testing and staffed by licensed professionals and advocates, the mobile clinic offers a full range of services, including mental health support, counseling and referrals to social services and ongoing medical care.
Denver represents a pivotal opportunity for Save the Storks’ outreach, as Colorado experienced an alarming 89% increase in abortions from 2020 to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision in 2023, according to Guttmacher. Many women now travel to Colorado for abortion tourism, specifically to receive an abortion, underscoring the critical need for life-affirming care in the 19th-largest city in the U.S.
“Catholic Charities is thrilled to announce that the Marisol Health Mobile is officially up and running, bringing free, life-affirming healthcare directly to underserved communities in Denver and Aurora,” said Darren Walsh, president and CEO of Catholic Charities. “We’re excited to see the difference this mobile unit will make as it serves weekly in the Five Points area, Central Aurora and East Colfax, supporting families when they need it most.”
“Save the Storks is deeply honored to expand our life-saving mission into Denver,” said Diane Ferraro, the organization's CEO. “This mobile medical clinic brings compassionate care directly to women in need, ensuring they have access to resources, medical services and a path forward rooted in dignity and hope.”
Marisol Health is one of the many ministries of Catholic Charities, the charitable arm of the Archdiocese of Denver. Guided by its mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to the poor and those in need, Catholic Charities provides a wide range of services across Colorado, including housing and shelter, food assistance, early childhood education, counseling, immigration services and emergency support.
Other ministries include Marisol Family, Marisol Counseling, Marisol Homes, Samaritan House, Catholic Charities Housing, St. Raphael Counseling, Centro San Juan Diego and the Little Flower Assistance Center. Through these programs that serve neighbors from Fort Collins to Fort Lupton, Glenwood Springs to Greeley, Catholic Charities serves individuals and families with faith, integrity and love.
Together, Save the Storks and Catholic Charities are expanding access to compassionate, life-affirming care — helping women choose life, dignity and hope.
