In a powerful testament to the compassion and unity of our local Church, the faithful of the Archdiocese of Denver generously contributed $164,185.48 through last month’s special second collection to aid victims of violence in Gaza.
A check for the full amount has now been submitted to Catholic Relief Services, ensuring that every dollar entrusted will go directly toward humanitarian aid — providing food for the hungry, shelter for the displaced, medical care for the suffering, and long-term support for those seeking to rebuild their lives.
This outpouring of charity comes at a providential moment. Monday, President Trump and other world leaders announced the signing of the Gaza peace deal, following Hamas’s release of the final 20 living Israeli hostages and Israel’s corresponding release of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. After months of fervent prayer and international effort, this historic agreement stands as a long-awaited step toward healing, reconciliation, and renewed hope in the land hallowed by the footsteps of Our Lord. While many wounds remain, this breakthrough offers a glimpse of the peace so many have prayed for.
Thank you to every parishioner who gave. Your generosity is more than material support; it is an act of solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters, a witness to the Gospel, and a tangible expression of the Church’s mission of peace.
Let us remain steadfast in prayer for all those affected by war and for a lasting peace rooted in justice, mercy, and the love of God.
