With caps lifted skyward, Holy Family High School in Broomfield marked a remarkable milestone last week: the graduation of its 100th class. A century after the school’s founding in 1922, 189 seniors became the latest witnesses to Holy Family’s enduring mission of forming faithful, compassionate and courageous Catholic leaders.
Rooted in a tradition of academic excellence and spiritual formation, Holy Family’s centennial graduating class stands as both a testament to its storied past and a hopeful signpost for the future.
A Legacy of Faith Lived Boldly
During the commencement ceremony, Holy Family President Mike D. Gabriel addressed the Class of 2025 with a call to remain steadfast in their Catholic identity and live the faith, especially as they enter a world that often urges them to set it aside.
“Through your trials and triumphs, you’ve demonstrated true strength,” Gabriel said. “You’ve drawn from the well of community, from the love of your families, the guidance of your teachers, and most of all, the unwavering strength of God.”
He encouraged the graduates to carry forward the lessons of faith they’ve received — not as a memory, but as a living, guiding force.
“In this journey, you’ve not only grown — you’ve revealed what authentic faith looks like,” he continued. “Faith in God’s plan, even when the path was uncertain. Faith in your God-given gifts, trusting they were meant for a purpose. And faith in the future, believing that even when you can’t see what lies ahead, your life is held securely in the hands of a loving Father who walks with you every step of the way.”

“We leave changed”
Class valedictorian Kolton Paulson, who will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall, reflected on the school’s transformative impact on his classmates, both as students and as disciples of Christ.
“Instead of trudging through life with our heads down, Holy Family lifted our chins up and taught us to live in happiness and thank God for every minute,” Paulson said. “Instead of living in a bland and unconnected group, Holy Family illustrated to us how to create a true sense of camaraderie and love. And instead of falling back athletically, academically, socially, and spiritually, Holy Family instructed us on how to balance and thrive in all aspects of our lives.”
Paulson’s remarks captured the heart of what Holy Family aims to cultivate: not just academic achievement, but a vibrant life of faith integrated with community, service and the pursuit of virtue.
A Remarkable Record, and a Vibrant Future
The Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of excellence. Collectively, the 189 graduates were accepted to 288 colleges and universities and have been awarded more than $17 million in scholarships and academic honors to date. These numbers reflect not only intellectual rigor but also the discipline and balance fostered through Holy Family’s holistic approach to education.
For 100 years, Holy Family High School in Broomfield has played a vital role in forming young people in the Catholic faith — integrating academics, athletics, the arts and student life with a deep commitment to discipleship and the mission of the Church. The school’s commitment to forming disciples who live with purpose and integrity has borne fruit for generations, and the centennial class now carries that torch forward.
