On the day after Pope Francis’ passing, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila shared his memories of the Holy Father on Colorado’s Morning News with Marty Lenz and Jeana Gondek on 850 KOA.

Archbishop Aquila discussed Pope Francis’ deep devotion to our Blessed Mother and the Holy Father’s kindness and outreach to those on the peripheries of society, including the homeless and immigrants.

Archbishop Aquila also touched on the challenging times we live in, making Pope Francis’ emphasis on mercy, compassion and charity throughout his pontificate all the more timely. To Pope Francis, love of God comes first, animating us to love our neighbor.
