In preparation for the upcoming seasons of Advent and Christmas, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila issued a decree Tuesday proclaiming that vigil/anticipatory Masses can be celebrated as early as 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The new Vigil Mass times will be enacted beginning Nov. 28 (First Sunday of Advent) and remain in place through Jan. 10, 2021 (Feast of the Lord’s Baptism).

Parishes are not required to add additional Masses. As the start of Advent approaches, parishioners are encouraged to confirm adjusted and updated weekend Mass times with their individual parishes.
