At the heart of the Church’s defense of life is a simple but powerful response: prayer. This October, Catholics across the Archdiocese of Denver are invited to come together in that prayer as Archbishop James R. Golka celebrates a special 40 Days for Life Mass at Marisol Health.

The Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the garden at Marisol Health, 2894 Olive Street in Denver. Together, the faithful will give thanks to God for the precious gift of life and pray for mothers, babies and families, especially those facing difficult or unexpected circumstances.

The setting is especially meaningful. Marisol Health Denver, a ministry of Catholic Charities, provides compassionate, life-affirming medical care and support to women and families. Through Marisol Health and the broader Marisol Services network, Catholic Charities walks with families during pregnancy and beyond, offering practical, emotional and spiritual support.

Celebrating Mass in the Marisol Health Denver garden is also a visible expression of the Church’s commitment to accompany women and families not only in words, but through loving service. It is a commitment rooted in the dignity of every human person and Christ’s call to care for one another.

The Mass is part of the international 40 Days for Life campaign, which calls Christians to peaceful prayer and witness for the protection of human life and is hosted by Respect Life Denver. Space for the Mass is limited, and advance registration is requested. Parking is also limited, so attendees are encouraged to carpool.

In the event of inclement weather, registered attendees will receive updated plans. Catholics throughout the archdiocese are invited to reserve their space and join Archbishop Golka for an afternoon centered on prayer, hope and the sacred dignity of every human life.
