With a renewed call to gratitude, the Archdiocese of Denver has launched the 2026 Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal. The annual campaign invites the faithful across Northern Colorado to prayerfully reflect on God’s generosity and respond in gratitude through their support of the local Church’s mission.
This year’s appeal holds special significance as it is the first led by Archbishop James Golka, who began his ministry as the sixth Archbishop of Denver on March 25. In a letter to the faithful, Archbishop Golka shared the spiritual foundation at the heart of this year’s campaign: “Everything we have is a gift from God.”
Drawing from this truth, Archbishop Golka invites Catholics to recognize God’s abundant blessings and respond through prayer and stewardship.
“As Scripture reminds us, ‘All good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights’ (James 1:17),” Archbishop Golka wrote in the letter. “Every blessing: our faith, families, parishes, resources and opportunities, come from his loving hand. When we recognize that all is gift, our first response is prayer. In prayer, we learn to listen to his will and trust his providence. From that gratitude flows stewardship — giving back to God from what he has given to us.”
As the archdiocese’s primary annual campaign supporting the mission of the Church across Northern Colorado, the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal invites the faithful to unite in sustaining vital ministries that no single parish could support on its own. Gifts to the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal provide critical funding for the formation and education of seminarians, support Catholic schools and catechetical programs, strengthen parish life and fund outreach efforts that serve the poor, vulnerable and those on the margins.
The appeal directly supports ministries like this very publication, Annunciation Heights, St. John Vianney and Redemptoris Mater seminaries, our archdiocesan schools and St. John Vianney Lay Division, to name a few.
“As I begin this new chapter with you, I ask you to pray,” Archbishop Golka wrote. “Ask the Holy Spirit how he is calling you to respond, and then prayerfully consider your gift to this year’s Appeal.”
Through the collective generosity of Catholics across Northern Colorado, the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal continues to build up a vibrant and faithful Church, serving individuals and families in every stage of life.
