For the third consecutive year, Denver will be the gathering place for thousands of people from across the state, united to defend the beauty and dignity of every human being.
The Colorado March for Life, taking place on April 17, will begin with Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver at 9 a.m., celebrated by Denver Archbishop James Golka. This will be followed by a time of prayer and praise at 10 a.m. outside the State Capitol, and a rally at 11 a.m., where speakers will share inspiring testimonies about life. At noon, participants will march through downtown Denver.
The keynote speaker will be Chelsea Mynyk, a registered nurse and certified midwife, and the owner of Castle Rock Women’s Health in Castle Rock, who will share her experience and commitment to human life and women’s well-being.
Other speakers will include Archbishop Golka, Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodríguez, Sister Mary Grace of the Sisters of Life, Lauren Castillo of Bella Health + Wellness, State Representative Brandi Bradley of Colorado House District 39 and Julie Bailey of Pro-Life Colorado, among others.
This annual event offers us the opportunity to raise our voices in prayer, supplication and witness in defense of life — a deeply Catholic call. As we pray for life, our faith calls us to act, not only in words, but also with our steps.
During his time as bishop of Colorado Springs, Archbishop Golka reminded us of a fundamental truth: we are called to respect and protect the life of every human being, from the moment of conception to natural death.
“Respect for human life lies at the very core of what it means to be human and, for Christians, it is at the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” the archbishop said. “The human person is the crown of God’s creation, possessing a dignity far greater than any other creature.”
In his first interview in Northern Colorado, Archbishop Golka summarized it simply: “God is madly in love with every human being.”
The words of our new shepherd call us to action. They remind us that every life matters and that we have the responsibility to be the voice for those who cannot defend themselves — the unborn.
Participating, raising our voices and defending life is more than an act of commitment; it is an act of love and justice that reflects the greatness and dignity of every human being.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join and be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves!
