Catholic Charities has exciting news to share about the St. Raphael’s Counseling team. Dr. Michelle Connor Harris has been named the new executive director, beginning July 1, 2023. Dr. Jim Langley is passing the torch to Dr. Michelle to turn his attention to a new endeavor within St. Raphael’s Counseling.

Dr. Jim co-founded St. Raphael Counseling in 2010 with the vision of creating a psychology clinic that incorporates the best of science with the teachings of the Church to help families strive for sainthood. The organization became part of Catholic Charities in 2018 and Dr. Jim has done an incredible job growing SRC to the thriving practice that it is today. Dr. Jim will remain a driving force in SRC in his new role as Principle Senior Psychologist. In this new role, he will continue his efforts to build the ministry as he serves two of the foundational elements of the Church today. Specifically, he will provide clinical services, professional counseling, clinical assessments, training and mentoring to those in clergy, religious life and holy marriage. In his spare time, Dr. Jim is busy with his wife and their five boys!

Dr. Michelle comes to the position of Executive Director for St. Raphael Counseling with years of dedication to working at the intersection of psychology and the Catholic faith. As the Clinical Director of SRC for the past five years, Dr. Michelle has dedicated her time to training future psychologists, running the busy outpatient clinic, and assessing students for learning and attention disorders. She specializes in treating clients who have experienced trauma, OCD, depression, and anxiety and is passionate about parent coaching. Dr. Michelle graduated with her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She also earned a master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Dr. Michelle is married with three sons, and her family attends St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Catholic Charities would like to thank Dr. Jim for his dedication and service as the executive director and we look forward to this new chapter with Dr. Michelle at the helm.
