The Catholic Media Association honored three Archdiocese of Denver communicators in four categories for excellence in Catholic media.

The Archdiocese of Denver is excited to share that the Catholic Media Association (CMA) has named three Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico staff members as finalists in four categories for their individual excellence awards — the most of any publication in this award cycle. Last year, the two publications brought home 37 awards, a new record.
Editor of the Year (English): André Escaleira, Jr., managing editor, Denver Catholic
Editor of the Year (Spanish): André Escaleira, Jr., managing editor, El Pueblo Católico
Writer of the Year (Spanish): Rocio Madera, bilingual communications specialist
Graphic Designer of the Year: Filippo Piccone, senior graphic specialist
“The recognition of several members of our marketing and communications team by the Catholic Media Association is an honor,” said Archbishop James Golka. “I’m deeply grateful for André, Rocio, Filippo and the entire team’s dedicated work in helping communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ over the past year. I pray that, through Denver Catholic, El Pueblo Católico and all other faithful, authentically Catholic journalism, souls might come to know Jesus Christ, who has come to rescue them and offer abundant life, for the glory of the Father.”
The recognition comes from an international professional association of incredible Catholic communicators, working daily to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in dioceses, parishes, schools, religious congregations and ministries.
The honor also coincides with the annual Catholic Communications Campaign, organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), which supports both local Catholic communications efforts, like the Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico, and national initiatives.
“Throughout my ministry as a parish priest, a chaplain to university students, and now as a bishop, I have seen how deeply people—especially the young—are shaped by digital media,” said Bishop William D. Byrne, chairman of the Committee on Communications for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). “If we hope to share the Gospel effectively, we must be present in digital spaces, offering clarity and sharing the mercy and truth of Jesus Christ.”
Your support, faithful readers, of the Catholic Communications Campaign enables us to continue sharing the Gospel with those who need it most, through meaningful testimonies, Catholic current events, thoughtful theological reflections and more. We couldn’t do any of this without you!
We're grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement, and remain humbled to serve the Church in Northern Colorado. We're inspired by your faith and all the ways that the Lord is moving throughout the Archdiocese of Denver! There are so many beautiful stories to tell, and we're honored to share them, all for the glory of the Father!
