Denver Bishops Invite Catholics to Pray Novena Ahead of November Elections

Archbishop James Golka and Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodríguez encourage the faithful to join Catholics nationwide in nine days of prayer for candidates, voters and elected officials.

Denver Archbishop James Golka and Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodríguez are inviting the faithful to join their brother bishops and them in prayer leading up to the 2026 Elections on November 3.
Organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Novena for Faithful Citizenship invites Catholics nationwide to unite in intercession for candidates, elected officials and voters as the political process plays out.
“Prayer is one of the first steps in acting for justice in our world,” the USCCB’s website reads. “This novena, rooted in the biblical tradition and the Church’s social teaching, is intended to promote justice and peace in our neighborhoods, our country and our world.”
Each day of the nine-day prayer consists of an opening prayer, a reading from Scripture, a few reflection questions for personal prayer, and a closing prayer.
“May this novena help to give hope to the poor who suffer from injustices and hope in your life that you may know the peace of Jesus Christ,” the website concludes.
