Last week, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila celebrated a requiem Mass in honor of the late Pope Benedict XVI at the Cathedral. Following the Mass, he was interviewed by Colorado Public Radio, during which he reflected on the pontiff’s legacy and shared details about encounters he had with him in the past.

“No matter what trials he may be going through, he always had that joy that Christ speaks of in the Gospel that no one can take away from you — and it was precisely his deep love for Jesus Christ,” Archbishop Aquila said of Pope Benedict XVI.
